ABILITY Build Video

In 2006 ABILITY Awareness' ABILITY Build program was selected to be featured in an episode of "Volunteerism: For the Sake of Others." ABILITY Awareness' inclusion in this series was a result of the program's founder, Chet Cooper, being honored in a private White House ceremony with the Presidential Community Volunteer Award.

The following video is highlighting a full-scale ABILITY House Blitz Build with 50% of the daily volunteers having some type of disability or health condition. It is important to note that ABILITY Awareness conducts all levels of training, ranging from one-day opportunities to full builds.

The scope, size and duration of the project is based on the level of interest and commitment of the low-income nonprofit building partner (i.e. Habitat affiliate), as well as thier desire to engage their local community and maximize publicity opportunities.
