Oahu, Hawaii

When ABILITY Awareness descended on Oahu, Hawaii we didn't just raise one roof -- but two! Working in conjunction with Honolulu Habitat for Humanity, ABILITY Awareness outreached to volunteers with disabiliites as well as injured veterans from Schofield Barracks. Together, these volunteers helped "raise the roof" on the home built for Julia "Nani" Kamaiopili who will reside there with her son and two grandsons.

Also while in Hawaii, ABILITY Awareness hosted "Raisin' the Roof" an all-star variety show that raised funds and awareness of our mission. Featured performers included Miss Universe Natalie Glebova (who also visited Tripoly Army Medical Center while in town), Actor Max Gail, Musician Mark Goffeney, Paralympian/Actor John Siciliano, Comedian Jeff Charlebois, Miss Deaf Hawaii and many others.
